8 days left!

Friday December 12th we saw Dr. Liu for the last time before the BIG due date.  We had another great appointment and were so happy to hear that things are looking good as far as the health of the baby goes.  The shocker....the baby is probably going to be a whopping 8lbs+!  I was like WHAT!  I guess it makes sense though because I was 8lbs, and the baby is suppose to be similar to how much you weighed.

I thought that since this may be one of the last entries that I would post some final pictures of the baby's room.  I love her room!  It is exactly what I imagined that our baby's room would look like.  Cam did such a great job helping me arrange and hang everything.  He was so patient even when I was "crazy lady with a baby" and kept nagging him.  It really has been a learning experience for the both of us as we prepare for the baby, but we are so excited for this next chapter of our lives!
The room looks more complete now that there is more furniture in it.  I am still waiting on my chair, but other then that all of the big pieces are in.  I love the curtains which my mom made, and the pink little hanging flower balls were from one of my showers.  It all goes together so well!
Here is another corner of the room with the changing table and crib.  It is amazing how all of the stuff actually fits in the room.
The plaques on the wall are what inspired me for the decor of the baby's room in the first place. When I was in New York visiting my sister we went to this adorable cupcake shop and they had similar plaques on the wall.  I actually found the one that says "imagine" in the middle at a small boutique in SLO, a very special place to both Cam and I.  I am hoping to find a couple more to add to the wall.  The white shelf above the plaques will have our little baby's name on it..........which is still up in the air.  We will finalize the name once we see her because we are torn between three names that we really like!
Look not even born yet and already her closet rivals mine....
Bags are packed and ready to go.
I can't wait to use my Juicy baby bag.

The home stretch......

Hey Everyone!  So I am at 38 1/2 weeks, 11 days left.  I am not sure once the baby comes how well I will maintain the blog, maybe I will pass the torch to Cam.  We are getting so excited, anxious, scared, nervous and so many more emotions, but feel like we are as ready as can be.  I mean come on now, are you ever really ready?

Tomorrow I go in for my final check up appointment before the due date appointment.  I am not really sure exactly when she is going to come.  At the last appointment she was still sitting pretty high, but the ladies at work swear she has dropped.  I am feeling really good, energized and moblie....though I now have a slight waddle.  Our bags are packed and ready to go.  We are dying to meet this little girl!  This weekend Cam and I will just be doing some final touches on the baby's room and relaxing. Stay tuned!

Thanksgiving

These pictures are getting posted pretty late, but I have just been so busy with work that I have not had time to sit down and rest.  So, Cam and I celebrated  Thanksgiving a little differently this year.  Since I was unable to travel to Redding (Cam's Grandma June lives in Redding) due to how far along I was in the pregnancy, Cam and I spent Thanksgiving apart.  I celebrated with my family, and Cam with his.  It was a little different from what we were use to, but we were happy to have been able to celebrate with both the Bonner's and that Watts'.

The whole Thanksgiving weekend actually ended up being not as we had planned.  Cam ended up getting terribly sick with the flu which put him out of commission for a couple of days.  I was battling a cold that I was certain I got from work, so I was in bed for most of the weekend as well. We did however get to enjoy one dinner with Cal Poly friends.  Alicia and Geoff were here from San Diego so it was nice to see them and to do one last dinner in San Francsico.

Pismo Beach Shots!

Before heading home from the babymoon, Cam and I stopped at Pismo Beach to take some beach pictures.  I had imagined these really cool beach shots like we did for our engagement, only we didn't have a real photographer...so these did not turn out quite the same.  We really needed someone else to be there with us or at least a tripod!  Luckily, a nice gentleman passing by took a couple shots of the two of us.  I am 35 1/2 weeks in these pictures. Enjoy!
Brrrrrrr....the water was freezing!

The happy couple.

Our Babymoon!

Thanks to the great advice of many of our friends, it was suggested that we take a "babymoon", before the big event happens.  A babymoon is a final getaway before the baby arrives and a time for Cam and I to just hang out, and spend some time doing the things that we may no longer be able to do because our lives will be crazy.  Cam and I jumped at the opportunity and decided to spend our babymoon at one of our favorite places, with the best food ever, San Luis Obispo! We started the trip by taking down Highway 1 and after a 6 hours drive we finally arrived in SLO.  I had to tell Cam that Highway 1 may have not been the best option at this point in the pregnancy and with all the twists and curves I had to take a nap for a majority of the trip to prevent from getting sick :)  On the way down we did make a couple stops.  We had lunch in Carmel at a cute little italian restaurant and stopped off in San Simeon and Cambria.  I know, I know some of you are probably thinking that the picture above is me resting on the beach, 8 months pregnant...ha ha, actually we said hi to the elephant seals.....I must say, they are stinky.
Finally arriving in SLO we were starving, and decided to have a nice dinner at what was formally known as Mission Bar & Grill.  The place is now called The Native, and is a totally upscale restaurant, which now caters to a higher end crowd.  We ordered several tapas there and enjoyed the swanky ambiance of the place.
For the weekend, we booked a room at the Cliffs Hotel in Pismo Beach which was awesome because it was right on the water.  The next morning we woke up, took a quick morning stroll, and then prepared for a couples massage.  Cam and I both agreed that these were some of the best (if not best) massages we have ever had.  This was my first prenatal massage and it felt so good!!  I highly recommend one to all you pregnant ladies.
After the massages we cleaned up and headed to one of my favorite spots, Gus's. (Picture to come).  At Gus's I got my usual, a turkey sandwich on a sourdough roll, with doritos and a soda (diet pepsi with a splash of root beer.....thanks Mich). It was sooo good and just what I needed!
After lunch, we went up to campus to check out the new dorms and all of the construction going on.  I cannot believe how different the school looks and how cool the new on-campus housing area is.  After driving around campus, we headed out to Avila Beach to check it out. Avila looks so different from when we were in college with new shops and restaurants.  It was a gorgeous day out there and we had fun looking around and hanging on the swings.
Feeling good at 8 months!
Later that night we met the Herthel's, Erika and Mark, with the adorable baby Kendall, at hands down our favorite place in SLO, Firestones!  Yum, yum.
We then headed back to Pismo and grabbed dessert and wine (for Cam) at Lido Restaurant.  It was a perfect way to end the night.  I couldn't have asked for a more perfect babymoon!!

Work Shower!

Well I was delighted when some of my work friends offered to host me a baby shower as my third and final event.  There are so many ladies at work that I adore and love hanging out with so this shower was very special.  As I mentioned in my last two shower blogs, I just cannot believe how spoiled I have been and how many great things Baby Watts has received. It is never ending, besides the great mommy advice, we have received everything from clothes, toys, books, gear, blankets, and more clothes!

The shower was held at the wonderful Fran Huber's house and it turned out to be a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon.....surprising for the middle of November.  Being with all the Menlo-Atherton ladies and not having to talk, think or even breathe work was AWESOME.  I had such a great time!
The hostesses: Fran and Silvia
The decor: the prego ladies were so cute.
Dessert table: These were some of the tiniest, but most delicious cupcakes I had ever eaten.
Me and my mom.  It was so great to have my mom there to meet all of the ladies from work and put faces to names.
Some of the guests mingeling: Paula, Nancy, Liz, Fran, Lisa, Rachel, Nat and Cat.

Shower #2!

This past weekend I had my second baby shower in which I was spoiled rotten aaagain!  Stephanie, Alicia and Caryn threw me a fabulous friend baby shower in Willow Glen at Steph's house, decorated with baby Watts' favorite colors.........pink and brown!!  The shower was a great reunion for many of the old Cal Poly girls, as well as a time to catch up and unwind.  I had so much fun seeing everyone and didn't want the weekend to come to an end.
Me and my childhood friend Jen.  We have known each other since 3rd grade and were roommates in the dorms.
The favors: a candy bar...yum, yum!
A diaper cake.....this will come in handy when the baby comes.
The spread was Italian.  LaVilla raviolis, one of my favorites!
Icing on the Cake.  Look at the cute little pink booties.
Game Time!  The host girls asked Cameron some questions about the pregnancy. The object of the game was that the guests had to remember what Cam's responses were.  His answers were hilarious, especially the one about Uncle Billy.
Deep in thought.....hmmm.....what did Cam say?
Gift time!  Look at this cute onesie from Sarah Ollenberger. So precious!

Ahh Lamaze...

Cam and I finished our last child-birthing class last night, and we are so excited to be done.  Part of the reason is because the class was on Monday nights and we were just so tired by the time we got to class, but also because we feel more prepared for labor now that we have completed this course.  Our instructor was awesome, and to be quite honest we learned so much from the class. Will I remember everything we learned?? Well, I can't guarantee that, but our instructor said that is what Cam is for :).  I guess most important is the he ha he ha breathing and that I will get through the labor-there is an end, and I will get there.  I am so excited to meet Baby Watts and realize now that she will be here before we know it.  I can't wait!

Halloween 2008!

Well Cam and I were kind of poopie for Halloween this year.  We had such BIG plans and great ideas, but ended up being very mellow.  This year we had actually planned to be Juno and Bleeker.....how perfect would that have been?  Me with my belly, Cam in his little Los Gatos running outfit, pale white legs and sweatband...if only we could have gotten it together.  Instead we ended up meeting with the Walsh family and trick-or- treating with the twins, Murphy and Waylon in downtown Los Gatos.  They really do it up in down there, closing off many of the streets and converting several homes into haunted houses.  Definitely a very cool scene, that I cannot wait for Baby Watts to explore it next year!!  YAY!!

At work however, all of the counseling department at Menlo-Atherton were in good spirit.  Everyone had the great idea of dressing up as pregnant women...I wonder what their inspiration was.  The ladies looked hilarious and we received many laughs around campus.  Guess who is actually pregnant!!

Go Gold!

This last weekend Cam and I attended an outstanding party hosted by the Walsh family to celebrate Kerri winning the gold. The party was seriously incredible and had everything you could possibly imagine.  There was delicious food, a an ice luge, basketball court, 2 beer pong tables, an excellent band and all of this was at one of the most gorgeous houses I have ever seen in Saratoga. Cam, Fogle and I had an absolute blast (even though the two of them got there butts handed to them on a platter in beer pong....I know boys the rules sucked.)  We were also in great company with the entire Walsh family, and baby Watts was thrilled to have met, and hung out with an Olympic Champion. Yay for Kerri!
